Arts & Crafts Style Bed Frame

The aesthetic of this bed frame captures the tradition of the Arts & Crafts style, while adding my own design flourishes like the details seen on the foot posts. I developed a layered stain and dye finish to highlight the extraordinary ray fleck grain of the Quartersawn White Oak.

The side rails of my bed frames are built with mortise and tenon connections and secured with bed bolts. Solid wood slats support the mattress, no box spring is needed. On Queen and King size bed frames, I install a center rail in the middle of the slats for extra support.
